Sue’s work is inspired by surfaces, textures, layers and the natural processes that form them within the landscape. Fracture lines, erosion patterns, fossils, leaf skeletons, tree bark, seed structures …
The coastal geology near Sue’s home in Watchet, West Somerset has been a focus for a number of years. More recently she has developed a new body of work concerned with the forest and the natural cycle of renewal. Sue works mainly in collagraph, using found and recycled materials to create richly-textured plates, printed in earthy colours and often employing chine collé to create additional layers.
Sue received a fine art degree in 2004 from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham. Sue is a director of Albatross Print Studio in Watchet.
