Painted screen monotypes exploring the ‘Emotional Landscape’ through gestural, semi-abstract, fictive places full of movement, weather, air and space. These conjured spaces utilise our connection to nature as the panacea for, and reflection of the human condition. Capitalising on the chance mark, and working in layers of transparency to create depth, texture and form, these unique intuitive works cross the bridge between painting and printmaking.
I have been based at Spike Print Studio Bristol as tutor in both oil-based and silkscreen printmaking since completing a Masters in Multi-disciplinary Printmaking in 2004.
Selected for the Royal Academy and a recipient of several national awards my work has been widely exhibited in the UK including The Mall Galleries, Bankside, Society of Women Artists, RWA, Hepworth, Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters, Society Of Women Artists, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Leeds Museum and Romanville Paris.
I co-manage North Street Gallery in Bristol where my original works, giclées and cards are always available.

Very happy and honoured to have been awarded the Prize For Excellence by the RWA academician selectors and gallery owner at this year’s 111th Clifton Art Club in Bristol.
The work chosen was ‘Squall’ silkscreen monotype.
Exhibition open every day until 17th of August.
Working on this at the moment. Think it will be called ‘Remembering The Light’ Mixed media 1m x 1m Not entirely sure what I think about it, another departure…time for experimentation and shifting the obstacles...

My favourite stretch of water on the daily bike ride. I was enjoying the blonde grasses,trees branches reflected in the water and the beautiful blue of the distant hills, then noticed the face in profile!

Celebrating a beautiful springlike day. Getting out into nature has been such a help during lockdown. This is the turnaround bridge for my cycle ride across the local moor that happens several times a week. They’ve hatched! Can’t believe my luck! I cycled off to see Swanny and watched mesmerised as one by one the chicks became bolder and bolder climbing out from under the shelter of her wing. They have probably been there since sometime around yesterday afternoon. The male swooped in across the field and walked a couple of hundred yards to the nest. When he arrived they greeted each other with neck waggling and grunting, then she stood up, got off the nest and encouraged the cygnets to join her for their first swim. What a magical moment to witness. Hurray! :-). .
